The Discovery process is a method of identifying and solidifying the key compensation philosophies and priorities of an organization with the intent of developing an action plan for strategy development. It focuses on helping a company clearly identify the key visions in the organization, assess market pay data, recast company financial statements (to reflect key employee compensation as a separate line item) and formulate recommendations to address relevant compensation issues. It is also often used to validate strategies already in place or about to be implemented. In either case, it is effective in helping a company prepare an appropriate compensation philosophy, structure and strategy to support the company’s overall vision and goals. Discovery is the foundational step in the Vision Definition stage of The VisionLink Solution™ process.
